A day NOT FORGOTTEN.

It's been 8 years since that unforgettable day...

I was a junior in High School. Entering my first year into Criminal Justice. It was the 3rd day of school. When our principal came into our classroom and pulled our 48 person class into his tiny office. Every one of us stared at the TV, not one of us said a word.

On 9/14/01, my dad and a group of men from our local fire departments made a 5 day trip to NYC to help clean the wreckage. It saddens me that the human race is capable of such hate, but it makes me so proud that so many more of us have such big hearts.

Here's to a day we will never forget....

All little time in the great outdoors..

So we got spunky and wanted to take a day out of the weekend and go for a hike. Lucky for us Grays Peak is pretty close so we piled into Pauls truck and headed out on a Sunday Morning. Paul was already excited because I agreed to take his truck, but as we were driving up the trail people started asking if we had room for more. You should have seen the smile on Pauls face. He was so excited to first get the chance to offroad and second that he looked so cool going up the trail that people actually wanted to get in! Off roading makes me nervous on parts like this so I got out of the truck, halfway to a heart attack, and took some pictures of Paul doing all the fun stuff.

We ended up sleeping in a little too late so we didn't get to the trailhead until around 8 or 9AM. By the time we were reaching the top it was soooo windy! Right through your clothes windy!

And can you believe it.. Middle of August and we're having a snowball fight.. I won by the way, I always win.. Just kidding.

I think Pauls favorite parts of all this camping and hiking is that he gets to use his GPS, and his gear, not to mention bouncing up and down the trail in his truck.

My favorite part is it's not about being Glamorous. Hopefully next time we'll wake up in time and climb both Grays and Torreys!

It's been too long.

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. Since Paul came home from WLC it's been nonstop around here! Lots of work is being done on our house so I'll have to put up some new pictures. I promise I will be better.

As far as whats been going on... I went back to NY for a week to visit my family. Paul parents were here for a visit, our friend Cody came to stay with us for a couple weeks, and my little sister Ashley came to live with us for a while. All the company has been great but we're exhausted.

I was extremely busy while I was home also. I got to meet 2 new nieces, my little sister graduated High School, my friend Tiffany got married, I had plenty of family to visit!

My niece Chloe. Shes such a smart little girl. If you tell her you love her she will say... "I know."

My new niece Jade. Big blue eyes! No one puts her to sleep like I do.

Its great to have Ashley around because she helps out alot around the house. If we're working on something she is right there to help us out. Shes pretty ambitious too. She already found a job and started working! I'm so proud of her.

WLC

A couple weeks ago Paul left for WLC. Right before my birthday of course. So the Friday after he left I went to a Party with Ashley, that her cousin was throwing. It was so much fun! It helped keep me extra busy so this time would fly by. Thank You Ash for inviting me!!! I had a great time. Not to mention the food was good!

Kim came up last weekend to keep me and the dogs company! I love having her to visit! I'll be sad when she goes back to NY. We went to the zoo all day on Saturday!! I completely forgot my camera so if I can manage to get some from her I will post them. It was a great day for the zoo. Sun was shinning, all the animals were out, and we found good parking!

On Sunday we woke up and mowed the lawn and took out the garbage and pulled the weeds, then we took the dogs to the park. We again got some nice weather for the morning and most of the afternoon. Because of all the rain we have been getting the park was GREEN!

I'm just happy Paul will be home tomorrow. Apollo has been quite the pain... (Chewing EVERYTHING) I'm so glad this was only a couple of weeks. It's a nice change from a year.

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!

So we bought a house and we're all moved in! We've been so busy since we went under contract I haven't had a spare minute to catch my breath. Both of us have been working full time and then going home and doing odds and ends to maintain the house. I never really knew how much work a lawn and garden can be. We're soo anxious for Pauls family to visit! They are pros! We feel like we can't keep up with the grass, but then again, we are SSOOOO greatful to even have grass! When we bought the house EVERY room was yellow... I kid you NOT. EVERYROOM! so far we have painted the living room and kitchenette and the framing in those two rooms! We've also done most of the trim.. We tore out the ugly brown carpet that was in the living room and dining room. We pulled out all the sticky paper she had in the kitchen cabinets, and packed them full of our dishes!! And we already have a BILLION ideas for what to do next. I'm so tired.. Will we ever find time for the gym again?

This is the view of the living room/dining room from the living room window wall. Those are the wood floors we found under that old carpet! Woohoo! At lunch with Ashley and Vivian a couple weeks ago, Vivian said, that clean ugly floors are better than, dirty carpeted floors! AGREED! I would have been happier with plywood floors, than I was with the carpet!

These pictures were taken before the accent wall in the living room was painted but we picked a sage grey color that we LOVE LOVE LOVE! We haven't finished hanging stuff up yet but we'll get to it.. for now I just want to enjoy it for a few days first.

I promise I'll be better about updating! I have a couple pictures of the park about 6 houses away with pretty pond RIGHT in the middle. I'll upload them and post them soon! Hope all of you make it over to see the new house soon! We miss you guys!

HOUSE HUNTING!!!!!!

WHEWWWW!!!! We're BEAT! We have been looking for houses almost everyday for weeks. We found one we liked, let the selling agent know we were putting an offer in. The agent let us have a second viewing, saying it was still available and noone had yet showed interest. THAT NIGHT, we go to write our offer and GUESS WHAT...... Under Contract. And NOT TO US. ARGHHHHHHH.

So we're back on the search. We found another house last week that both of us liked that was priced too high, so our agent called theirs and asked if they could accept less.. Unfortunately the owners are facing foreclosure and need to get the most out of it. In a market like this they are far more likely to be foreclosed on.

I'm getting a little frustrated because it is really hard for us to completely agree on a house. When we finally do something else comes up!
